Kindred has partnered up with the Swinomish Tribe and its Swinomish Casino & Lodge in Anacortes to launch a sportsbook in Washington. It will be their seventh state as at this point, Unibet sportsbook currently is available in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Iowa, Arizona, and Indiana.

As confirmed, the partnership is set for six years and will include a five-year right to extend. Kindred Group SVP of North America Manuel Stan commented, “We are very excited to expand our footprint in the US together with the Swinomish tribe. The opening of a Sportsbook Lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will allow us to offer best in class sports betting experience,” he added.

Kindred added that the company looks forward to further expansion in US operations. They mentioned that operating conditions have been difficult for many of the non-leading brands in the US.

The launch in Washington makes the Swinomish Tribe the second tribal operator to launch sports betting in Washington. There are 24 Indian tribes with 30 retail casinos in Washington, but Swinomish Tribe will only be the second tribal operator to launch sports betting in the state.

The other tribe is the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe. It opened its sportsbook operations at its Snoqualmie Casino property outside of Seattle in September 2021 in partnership with technology supplier IGT.
