Light & Wonder has trained its attention on becoming the market leader for the fast-growing mobile online casino segment across the United States. In an interview with the iGaming FM podcast, Dana Jackel, Head of US Commercial at Light & Wonder, explained that the supplier’s technical teams have been developing new technological solutions to assist with its operator partners’ success in regulated states.
With iOS being the dominant platform for online gaming in the US, it is in this area that Light & Wonder is placing its focus. “In the US, we have one big country containing many, many markets, and it’s continually growing. It would be incredible to have new states legalized, and we are really looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen in New York and Illinois, for example,” Jackel told iGaming FM.
“But in the current landscape and in those markets that we are operating at the moment, our biggest opportunity lies in becoming a market leader in iOS and on mobile. In the US, approximately 70 to 80% of revenue goes through iOS alone. In our mission to become a leader in that space, we’ve progressed with some new tech initiatives recently, and we are evolving our iOS Software Development Kits (SDKs).”
The success of Light & Wonder in the US
Light & Wonder has enjoyed great success in the US through its in-house content, including the hugely successful release Jewel of the Dragon Red Phoenix. Its Lightning Box development teams have also achieved record-breaking growth with online audiences in the US, while there are high hopes that Light & Wonder Live Dealer by Authentic Gaming will resonate strongly with its bespoke studio environment providing a wide selection of shared live tables available to all operators.
“There is so much room for us to grow, and I am looking forward to seeing what we do,” Jackel added. “With the increased competition from our providers and for our operator partners, it’s just so important to be number one in this space, and that’s our goal here. Across everything we do at Light and Wonder, we always ask, can we be the best partner to our operators? It is a tremendous opportunity.”
