September 28 is the first day of the iGamingNEXT Valletta 2022 conference – igaming, sports betting, gambling, technology, and future-focused event in Malta, Valletta. The event is on September 27-29, 2022, at the Mediterranean conference center in Valletta.

iGamingNEXT organizers have taken care of everything. The venue is beautiful and spacious, there is no queueing by the entrance or panels. There is always a helpful hand showing where is what.

The panel speakers are a colorful bunch of experts seated together discussing the burning topics of the igaming industry. What problems are we facing? What is the future of different verticals? How to improve the ecosystem within the industry? And the list goes on and on.

Panel Highlights

In the panel led by Todd Haushalter, CPO of Evolution, some of the greatest minds in the industry tried to figure out the future of our sector with direct, non-ambiguous predictions. Happyhour.io CEO & Co-Founder Robin Eirik Reed and Yolo Investments General Partner Tim Heath touched upon options that might happen in the future, like big players buying out the little ones and multi-million project strategies.

As a listener, it was amazing to hear some of the industry leaders sharing strategies, visions, investment ideas, and overall gut feeling about what the future holds.

In the panel, ”Is the US heading for a rude awakening on responsible gambling?” Catie Di Stefano, Bill Pascrell III, Maris Catania, and Matt Zarb-Cousin discussed the status of responsible gambling tools, guidelines, and approaches in the US. As George Rover led the discussion where all parties shared their opinion. Listeners could feel that panelists highlighted the need for conversation among all industry parties, involving operators, affiliates, game studios, and more. They expressed the importance of structured guidelines based on research that needs to be implemented as soon as possible.

Quoting Catie Di Stefano, Director of Community Marketing at OnlineGamblers.com, ”We have to talk about education. Americans have no idea how to bet legally because, in the US. It’s difficult to figure out which operator is legal and which is not. So, as an affiliate, I think we must educate the players more.”

Catie also highlighted the importance of educating players on money management. This would mean understanding that gambling expenses should count as spending for entertainment. There is money that goes for rent, food, and a separate sum goes for entertainment. So players should understand that the share of funds going to fun cannot exceed what the person can afford.

Burning topic: the US

The topic around North America was discussed multiple times, and it was our pleasure to hear that OnlineGambler.com and expert vision of safe and legal gambling aligns.

Almost every panel today touched upon the topic of RG. ”Where the responsibility starts and ends when it comes to the consumer?” ”What part the operator, affiliate, brand ambassador, or game provider plays?” It’s clear that there is no magical answer or fixes for this, and all parties have to be involved and responsible.

Today’s speakers shared brilliant strategies, thoughts, and ideas across all panels.

We are looking forward to tomorrow to deep-dive into the Meta world predictions.
