The face of BetMGM’s World Cup – Tim Howard
Tim Howard has become BetMGM’s brand ambassador. The iconic US goalkeeper who retired in 2017, will be the face of World Cup-related betting offers. Howard will launch free-to-play games and promotions as part of the deal. This move comes ahead of the 2022 World Cup and an increasing fever for soccer betting among US bettors.
Who is Tim Howard?
Howard was a mainstay on the US Men’s National Team and won the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, being voted the CONCACAF Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He made a world record in the 2014 World Cup when he made 16 saves in a single game versus Belgium.
Additionally, Howard is already the US ambassador for Everton, a UK-based soccer team (the one in Liverpool that isn’t Liverpool FC). He was with Everton for a decade, from 2006-2016, where he gained status as a club legend.
BetMGM’s World Cup promotions
BetMGM is offering a list of free-to-play games and daily challenges that will run through the tournament. There is a wonderful chance to get $250,000! You can compete for a $250,000 grand prize by predicting a perfect bracket. If no one predicts a perfect bracket, the user with the closest guess will be awarded $50,000.
The New Customer offer gives you a free bet worth up to $1,000 once signing up on the site. New users who bet $10 on their first game will be given $200 in free bets if a goal is scored in that match.
On top of that, there will also be the Tim Howard Shootout Challenge. The daily Free-to-Play game will allow you to take on Howard directly in a betting ‘shootout.’ Participants are guaranteed various prizes, including $100 in free bets.
BetMGM CRO Matt Prevost shared his thoughts about the partnership, “Tim Howard’s performances on the pitch thrilled a generation of US soccer fans. With Tim’s support, we will bring a similar level of excitement to our customers through various games and interactive opportunities.”
